Post a lot with someone on a shared view......

.....be it sharing an ideal world where we can steal hot celebrities and keep them as pets
Yay! Took me a while to notice that but I grinned when I saw it

I find it odd how some of you members seem to be so close because I seem to be part of the community but don't seem to be making any specific friends, and don't really know how you guys manage to do it either
Hmm why is that?? How do you guys make friends on TSR?
We can be friends, but first you have to tell me who on TSR you have a crush on :teeth: Go ahead, don't be shy.

Spend at least 2 months studying every aspect of human fitness, then go crazy and form a team with Adonis to slap every person that thinks they can bulk up while eating three McDonalds a day and show them how it's done.

Join societies & post a lot in a specific forum. It depends really, I think if you come here to make friends you will. I don't post like that, and although i've posted a lot I don't "know" anyone. People probably recognise my name but I prefer to have some anonymity

If you show your personality your more likely to make friends than if you withdraw yourself.

Ignore people saying make nice posts etc. that's not a direct way of experiencing the social aspect of TSR. You have to become a sub, because people do this to essentially socialise. Even the "serious" threads of the backroom [sub area] is for socialising so imagine what the other bits are like. Either get riches somehow or pay £3.50. Luckily this time somebody randomly gave me a sub which is why I know about it, but that's unlikely to happen to you if you're new.
Hm this whole 'subbing' thing is a mystery to me- what difference would it make? It always seems like the people who sub have existing friends already haha

I know, I've already read that...
it's just I don't get why people would do it...
maybe they are genuinely asking the question rather than this perceived "trolling"??

Yeahh it's a bit stupid, some people just like the attention that flares up around them when they post something that annoys everyone.

I tend to post alot in 1 subforum (H+R, obv) and then sometimes get messages from girls who have seen a few of my posts and have found them particularly interesting or just love the sarcasm (true story). We then usually chat a bit in private message and then swap MSN details if we wanna chat more.

Have made some real good friends that way (and previous girlfriends :P )

i'd say join a society or two, become a PS helper, become a sub?
basically just post a lot more with people in a certain forum or area and you'll begin to form a rapport an stuff

The people I recognise on here are people from specific threads that I go on - for example, I recognise the Oxford people cause I spend most of my time in that sub-forum (and more specifically the offer holders chat thread). After a while I found a couple of them on facebook and got to know one or two through there.
