I switched my current account to the Co-Operative Bank a few months ago and I've been really impressed by how friendly, helpful and understanding they've been. The only thing that bothered me was going to Norwich (around 40 minutes on the bus) for my nearest branch since they closed the mini-branch in my town. It seems like at Brunel the nearest branch is Ealing.

I've been looking into getting a student account with them but they don't seem to have any great gimmicky offers I was just wondering if I would be getting a good deal:

* £1,400, £1,700, £2,000 interest-free overdraft in Year 1, 2 and 3 respectively
* Debit card / Cheque Book / Cheque Guarantee card
* £30 charge for unpaid direct debits but no overdraft charges
* Ethical investment policies

Sounds pretty decent. I would go for them, but I desperately need the student railcard from Natwest, so it looks like I'm going with them! :p:

Get a co-operative mebership card too, as you'll receive dividend for holding an account with them. It isn't much, but it is free money.

I've already got one, it's handy to have around.
