Hi I just wanted to ask a quick question about the MSc I am going to be taking in October, sorry if it has already been asked in a previous thread. Basically the course ends in September 2010 and I was wondering would this hinder my chances of getting a grad job because most of my mates who have had grad jobs in IB have started training by August, so I was wondering would they frown upon this?

I'd have thought banks would expect Masters courses to finish a bit later - I hadn't thought about this actually, but I'm in the same position as you it seems...

Spoke to one of my friends who was doing an Masters at Durham before getting a grad offer at RBS. He'd done all of his exams, but not his dissertation, so Durham offered him the chance to go part time with his Masters, meaning he has a year to do his dissertation in his own time... Not ideal, but better than a kick in the teeth I guess. If you've got a grad offer, finishing your Masters is probably not going to seem as important - I daresay if I get a FT offer next summer, my diss will probably be something of a botched job... :p:
