Running in a seimilar vein to the Career vs Love thread.
Would you rather:
A) Have found the love of your life, spent a year falling deeper and deeper in love with him/her, planning the rest of your life with him/her, when sudden they are hit and killed instantly by a drunken driver right in front of your eyes. You spend the next 10+ years mourning her death and wondering what could have been.
B) You don't find love, and live a mediocre life, feeling a bit down at times, but never feeling heartbreak.

To quote Moulin Rouge: "The greatest thing you'll ever learn, is just to love, and be loved in return".

It's a common misconception that just because you never get the chance to 'love' (assuming it exists) that means you are not heartbroken.
If you never get even a relationship, you are heartbroken 24/7.
It is MUCH better to have loved and lost.
