    Okay here's the deal:
White boy wants to marry Asian girl. Wedding is being planned and all ... but here's the snag: in the Asian culture, the groom/groom's family pays for the wedding ceremony. In the Western culture, the bride/bride's family pays for the wedding ceremony.

    So now what?

it's kinda weird isn't it? that the cultures have different sides pay for the ceremony ... what a pain. Because both sides are stubborn.

I believe that harks back to when fathers would literally pay to get rid of their daughters lol. Whereas in Asian culture women are valued higher so the mans family pays.

In Asian culture, do you mean to say the boys side pays for the WHOLE ceremony? :lolwut: There tends to be a celebration day organised by the female side, and then a celebration day organised by the male side.. If that makes sense

Anyway, they could just go halfs.

So, what, neither family wants to pay? Simple; the couple doesn't get married until sufficiently many family members pull their heads out of their arses, or until they can fund it themselves.

Either 50/50 or the couple pays for it.

They pay for it themselves, like lots of other modern day couples do, as the whole parents paying for it thing is outdated now!

If the couple has enough money - then they can pay for it themselves rather than the parents. If it were to be the parents - then 50/50 of course.

50/50 but im guessing it will be really hard to persuade both families to cough up if one party believes the other should pay

Err is that right? Kinda conflicts with the extremely high levels of Female deselection in Asian cultures.

If they're both not stepping down then yea 50/50 is better than having the families fight before the wedding..Not exactly a good send off into married life for the couple
