Crescent Flats - More info/ mixed sex?

Hi I just got my offer for and was just wondering if anyone knew anything about the crescent flats in endcliffe/ what they are like etc.

Also does anybody know if they are mixed sex or single sex?

Cresent flats has flats of single sex (and possibly ones of mixed sex not certain) and seems to be very lively. Its quite near the edge, but a little bit further towards the top of Endcliffe Cresent. The bathrooms are shared obviously, and the bedrooms are quite a good size but are a little less modern than the newer blocks.

Most people are first years but there are some gap year students.

I was in Crescent flast last year! None of the flats are mixed. The ground floor are boys flats and the 2 floors above are girls flats. They were built in the 90s so they're not that modern. There's 2 toilets and 1 shower in each flat that you share between you all. Each flat has 5 rooms (apart from flat 1 and flat 8 - both male flats, that have 6). You share a kitchen, but there is no living room. If I haven't covered anything, just ask! You'll love it!

I too was a resident of the famous Crescent Flats last year!

In short... it's a ********, everything breaks, flats are falling apart, if you're flat 9 then there's an whole level of ******** waiting for you.

But there is a good thing, the people are quality! There's not one person in the block who I hated, even the Who the **** is Sam Moir haters (Crecent 08/09 inside joke)? You'll love it!

And spend some of the £800 saved by going on holiday :wink:

Same in what way? Catered has a great community. The rooms arn't anything special but they are reasonable!

hey guys... i'm in rivelin 26E and i just rang to find out if i'm in single or mixed gender. the answer was that they try to allocate single sex flats as far as possible and then people who said they didnt mind being in mixed on their applications may get put in mixed groups. does anyone else think this sucks a little bit? or would you prefer to be in all girls or all boys?

I don't think that is necessarily true, I have been told more than once by ACS that they are upping the number of mixed sex flats as it has proved more popular! Also there are blocks where there are two mixed flats (which could have been put as two single sex). I think they just keep it as a mixure of both because then its easier for them, and pot luck in a way.

I lived with 7 other girls last year and it wasnt bad at all! Trust me its quite good because you get to hangout in your pjs without feeling silly. Also, when flats are single sex the block mingles more because everyone makes more of an effort.

It isn't bad at all once you've got used to it. And the new flat 9 has a new fridge, oven and a better shower because it was all falling to pieces when we first got there! You even get your own personal cleaners (you'll see what I mean once you get there...).

I'd say its definately a good one. Personally I think Endcliffe is DEFINATELY the best site (maybe I'm biased!) and everyone I've known in cresent has really liked it and had a great social life.

The majority is "mixed", but they do have "singles" room preference, that you can select if you are an unconditional offer holder.
I myself booked myself at Endcliffe Crescent 30, and will be starting this September 2021-22.
