    My Shortlist
The University of Aberdeen - English and History
The University of Birmingham - English Literature and History
Durham University - English Literature and History
University of St Andrews - English-Modern History

I guess I'm rather sad for already having made a short-list of places and courses I would like to apply for. No doubt someone will neg me for this (post). But I think it's good to make short-lists etc, and be aware of standard requirements. I guess I know now that I can't mess up this last year, and already having goals in mind, I have something to focus on!

    :yeah: Geography!! :yeah:

Probably applying to Oxford, Durham, St. Andrew's, Queen's University Belfast and either UCL, Bristol, Glasgow or Exeter.

Then I want to do a postgrad in something like glaciation or environmental management and conservation. Then I want to get a job... probably as a teacher.

I'm surprised at how many have already planned not just their subject, but also what universities they will apply to. This time last year, I had just about finalised my plan on what subject to take, and hadn't even got started on narrowing down the 30 or so prospectuses down to just five.

mine are all in south just because they are the ones I like, but I'm the opposite, I want to be as far from home as possible, I hate the idea of my parents randomly popping in on me
Yeah, I don't want to go TOO far, but far enough to be able to stay on campus without them coming over to check on me. I'd call them regularly so they won't feel the need to

History and American Studies joint honours with a year in Canada, grades permitting - quite positive I'm the only one on TSR doing that, thinking about teaching in Canada or the US :yeah:

Hopefully English Lit. Still undecided as to where though, I'm waiting to see what my AS results are like first.

After my degree I want to work in the theatre industry or be a journalist or maybe combine the two and be a theatre critic, who knows?

German and ab initio Spanish / German and ab initio Italian

Depends on which languages the uni lets me do from scratch although I particularly want to learn Spanish.

Want to be a teacher or go into interpreting.
