I like to look at magazines (not necessarily all fashion ones) and chop out bits which i like. i have a mood board which i constantly add too.

also, i find other people inspiring. especially those who don't follow the trends

I love Karla Deras' blog: www.karlascloset.blogspot.com. She has amazing style, hmm not so much recently, but the first year or so that she started posting .. WOW. Also, I look at lookbook.

I signed up to emails, which are really good as you get one every couple of weeks and they're really interesting, simple and relevant to most people!
And you can obviously look through the other articles.

This site is really awesome: polyvore.com
It lets you put outfits together, and tells you where to buy the stuff.

I always find myself looking at what other people are wearing and then thinking how nice they look...
Then I adapt it so it'll suit me.. or give it up as a bad job and see something nicer :p:

Three steps, to repeat once every 6-12 months:
    (1.) Walk into clothes shop
(2.) See what's not too expensive and what doesn't look too bad
(3.) Buy at most three items

I saunter into Primark, Burton or Next and proceed to try-on assorted garments until I find something that I like; for example:

Granted, I'm hardly an innovator; but being ginger means the sort of thing that suits me probably won't suit anyone else, so that isn't really a concern.
    **** me, you're hot.

Indeed; and yet it remains criminally under-represented among the myriad other hues. Oh, well.
