I think sometimes, having friends with me gives me more confidence - like in groups and stuff, meeting new people. Because when I'm alone I tend to be in my own little bubble...

But I do need days to myself, I love it.

I wish I wasn't in a single-parent family, though. It gets lonely sometimes when my dad's always working, and my friends are always spending time with their 2.4 families

I know people who hate going anywhere on their own, even just down the shop or something, which seems crazy to me!

I love being alone in the house. But, when it's 4am and I'm not thinking straight, I always hear footsteps down stairs, not fun...

Sometimes I'm content in my own company; normally it's during the nights. During the days however I'm a terrible state.

I'm bored of being on my own. I've stayed at uni over the summer because things changed at home and I would've ended up sitting around in the house on my own doing nothing.

But my housemates are either at work or with boyfriends all the time, and everyone else who's still here as work too. I work every other week for 4 days, so the majority of the time, I'm not working. So I'm sat in the house on my own, or abandonned by friends who can't bare to be away from boyfriends for 5 minutes.

This summer is far too boring.

I quite enjoy solitude - not all the time, but I really appreciate my own space and my own thoughts, so it doesn't bother me too much. I socialise enough at work etc.
Pretty much agree with this comment. I also wierdly enough come from soton.

Oh and OP give them a ring or something and meet up maybe?

I usually like doing my own stuff as well, but I'm perfectly capable of being quiet around friends. Just the idea of having someone else there is quite comforting.

Granted it's because I haven't talked to friends properly in the last 3-4 weeks and when I do, conversations don't last more than 5 minutes. It gets lonely then.

I also quite like solitude but I also would like to fall in love. :sigh:
If by alone then you mean "in love", then I'm not alone. Misunderstanding if so, sorry.

I personally couldn't give two flying *****. I have my girlfriend, my best friend lives with me & I have my mother. I'm alone a fair bit of the time, but these 3 people make my life. I love them all to bits.
I get lonely, of course, but okay, being online gamer who has loads of "fans" has it's advantages at times like that.

I'm reasonably content being alone. *shrug*

I was never much of a social butterfly at sixth form. I had my group of friends, but I rarely joined in any of the outside school festivities. Sometimes I went to someone's house, or invited them to mine, or went to a lunchtime meet-up (I looove meet-ups), but I can skim alone quite merrily.

I like alone time, like.. "me" time where i don't have to give two hoots about anyone else.

But then i love spending time with my friends and other people the rest of the time. In fact most of the time i can't stand being alone... Just when i'm in the mood to wind down.
