Don't buy branded food - ownbrand stuff is actually sometimes nicer, and even the Basic/Economy/Saver ranges have some gems occasionally.

If you are living in a house, an alarm is a must if you have computers. Failing that, back it up religiously and hide the backups so you don't lose all your work.

Don't have sex with your tutors/supervisors. It isn't cool, its stupid and you can get yourself and them into lots of trouble :ninja:

Learn how to cook. No matter how good a deal you think you're getting, you'll get a better one if you just learn how to cook. Offer to cook for your parents. They'll probably be ******* stunned anyway, but it means that they'll by the ingredients so you can get the hang of it for free.

I was stunned by the number of people I met who couldn't boil a ******* egg.

Do your reading and go to your lectures. No matter how much you think you don't need to (you'll 'do the reading later'?) you will be utterly ****** when it comes to exam time.

    Talk to everyone.

And don't be discouraged if in your first 5 or 6 lectures you sit beside nobody but right grumpy wee ***** who just grunt back. (...personal experience there).

You can get free nibbles if you got to lots of different events.
