A flight landing into Koh Samui airport Thailand has crashed this morning on landing due to high winds and rain.
The pilot was killed and many other passengers injured.

Thoughts to all those suffering as a result of this.

Really makes you think when you were on the same flight only 4 weeks ago.

I've flown longhaul many times with many different airlines. This isn't a normal thing. I've seen a video on a Thai news channel and photos taken by a friend who is over there right now and it was 99% caused by the extreme weather. Plus it was only a turbine powered aircraft, if thats what they're called.

    Don't worry, you'll be fine

    It really is

Luckily only one person has reportedly died... it could have been worse.

Yeah those kind of aircrafts are built to deal with all weather conditions, i flew on a 747-400 to bangkok a last month.

This is the aircraft that crashed, an atr-72. Simply a turbopropella on each side.

Please, you have more chance of falling through a grate, or getting run over, or probably even being struck by lightning. Do you worry whenver you do those :p:

Thanks, lol. It's just night flights that worry me. Keep imagining the Pilots falling asleep. Especially as our flight doesn't leave until 10pm

Most of the time the pilots do very little mid flight... plus they wont fall asleep, they do this every day :P

People panic too much, events like todays just happen out of bad luck and bad timing.
