I know that Music Exams Grades 6-8 are converted into UCAS points under ABRSM. Does anyone know if this also applies under trinity??

Quote from UCAS Tariff: "Points shown are for the ABRSM, Guildhall, LCMM, Rockschool and Trinity College London Advanced Level music examinations."

    So Trinity's fine!

Theyre not worth a great deal though from what I remember reading. Grade 8 distinctions in practical and theory together might get you somewhere close to having a good A-level.

Or, indeed, Grade 8 distinctions in two or more instruments... It's a shame music diplomas aren't included in the tariff!

yeah, music diplomas should be put into the tarrif as they are at NQF levels 4/5/6 so are at similar levels to certain years on university degrees

Do bear in mind that many universities don't take these points into account. If you receive a points-based offer, it's unlikely that you can use points achieved from music exams as part of the offer
