    Hey,

Has we all know each Media Group has there own issues/agenda they wish to achieve by the news/information they provide.

Many say the BBC is unbias but does the BBC have its own Agenda? If it is Political or not?

The BBC agenda during it's early years was to educate and improve the viewers under the then Director General of the BBC John Reith.

Reith was also an admirer of Adolf Hitler, btw.

"I am certain that the Nazis will clean things up and put Germany on the way to being a real power in Europe again.... They are being ruthless and most determined". -- John Reith in 1933.

    Does that help?

No, it doesn't help. Most of upper-class British society 'admired' Hitler in the early thirties, as a stabilising force. That has pretty much no relevance to the nature of the BBC today...

Also that doesn't necessarily mean he approved of Hitler. Hitler did clean things up, and did put Germany on the way to being a real power in Europe. And he was ruthless and determined. All that was true but he was also an evil ****.

These days the BBC seems to have a liberal agenda. They're not supposed to, but it's pretty clear they don't treat the BNP equally compared to other parties.

Pretty sure there's a similar thread but...

The BBC is one of the very few unbiased media outlets in the world. Maybe there are some liberal people within the BBC, but there's also conservative folk. (Nick Robinson spent a year as national chairman of the Young Conservatives). It is fair and unbiased. As far as I can see.

Well, British society is fundamentally liberal. The BBC treats the BNP with a roughly similar attitude as it does the AWL or the SWP - as a minor fringe party...

They have an Anti-English/South to be honest. 88% of their viewers are English and a good portion of them are in the South. Who cares if the Scots or the Welsh complain? Build a real economy and pay more taxes and then you can complain.

Scotland has 8% of the population of the UK and raises 10% of the tax...so well, there you go, really.

According to the Scottish government Scotland contributes 8.1%. That 0.1% balanced out by the fact that Scotland has access to London a world city that contributes more to the UK population wise and Economy wise.
    So there!

It's relatively impartial. Populist, if anything really. It's certainly got no obvious political screen like Fox.

Complete left-wing, anti-American, anti-Israeli, global warming believing, socialist and pro-Labour institution. In my libertarian opinion, this is what happens when the state funds the media.

STOP THE LICENCE FEE, IT'S NOT A GOVERNMENT'S JOB TO TAKE MONEY FROM PEOPLE THAT WORKED FOR IT AND DISTRIBUTE IT TO A MEDIA OUTLET THAT MAY NOT PROMOTE THE PEOPLES' VIEWS!

I'm pretty sure you're actually a socialist trying to ruin the libertarians credibility, or at least I hope so. I don't want to support the same party as you.

As an outsider, I'd say it's not bad in terms of impartiality. If anything, it favours the status quo i.e. the pursuit of wealth, fame, "I'd do anything" etc. But as far as public broadcasters go, it's really quite impressive and unbiased.
