Basically i work as a part time sales associate with mothercare and they said it was ok to have a second job.
I recently went for an interview and got the job for john lewis and i was wondering whether they are ok with people having another job.
    Thanks

You don't have to tell John Lewis you have another job. Why didn't you ask for more hours at mothercare?

My brother recently got screwed on tax codes etc. because the tax man's system hates people with two jobs, so keep an eye on that and make sure you're getting the full allowance.

You should check the details of your contract as some employers do put in clauses about 2nd jobs.

You can reclaim any overpayment of tax, and it's also possible to elect to split your annual 'personal allowance' between multiple jobs (which can allow for tax refunds to be made through the payroll process). In each case, you can call HMRC and they'll be able to sort this out for you.

They shouldn't have a problem with it, although you don't actually have to tell them. It is fairly common for part-time staff to have a second job.

Yeah, he's on top of it. I just thought I'd let the OP know to be careful. Thanks for the advice anyway.
