What are your thoughts on this? Are A Levels a good measure of intelligence? A large proportion of it is memory and also are they in need of a major revamp?

Exams, tests, whatever - measure only your ability to take that test, and to what degree.

To deduce any conclusions about intelligence is pretentious. Anyone can memorise a list of facts / processes. Intelligence is a much more complex concept. The current education system measures your work ethic more than anything.
