On the one hand, I'm slightly daunted by the prospect, but getting to move away for a bit more independence was one of the reasons I applied to Cambridge so I'm also looking forward to it. Plus, chances to meet new people!

Just think of it this way; tons of other people prolly applied for that course and didn't get in. You have this oppertunity to actually start living your own life and getting out there in the world, and that you'll need to face it sooner of later. It's not as if you'll never see them again, and I'm pretty sure that there will be others on the same boat Just try and enjoy yourself there, you've worked hard for it, so therefore you deserve it.

The reason why I applied to all English unis except St. Andrews was because of the need to get as far away from my parents as possible. They are the VERY mollycoddling kind.

St. Andrews was just a fall back in case I didn't get accepted into any of my other choices :o:

19 days for me, I am a tad nervous but on the whole looking forward to starting afresh, meeting new people, studying something I love and trying new activities. :yep:

I've also had thoughts of pulling out and going to college to redo a couple of highers then applying to somewhere else next year...but that wouldn't be moving forward.

40 mins is nothing, you can easily pop home the odd evening if you need but once you get settled you'll love the indepenence and never want to go home. :p:
