Isn't Applied Maths the one paper with a stats part and a mechanics part?
Ie, you get to sit one or the other.
There are two different papers: one Stats and one Mechanics (each of which have a very samll amount of pure in them as well). You're only meant to sit one, yes, but I'm sure one or two people on here have said that in the past people have done both through persuading their school and/or the SQA.

Ah I see. Isn't each paper about 3 hours long though? Wouldn't they have to do one early in the morning and then the other at the normal time? So they don't talk to anyone who did the paper.

What has to happen is someone sits statistics in the morning, then goes into isolation (1/3 of each paper is the same) and then sits the second three hour paper in the afternoon. I'm not sure it's possible, the SQA weren't very happy with my friend doing it this year for some reason.

Because of the shared third? :lolwut: Unless they take the first of the two to count for both, but even that has problems.
