Unless the examiner is a pervy old man or our teacher is feeling terribly liberal? :teeth: She actually specified last week that our pieces couldn't be sexy but my friend might just write it for the hell of it. :p:

Btw, is showing another AH English candidate your creative work before you send it off classified as cheating?
If she writes it cleverly enough that it isn't immediately obvious that that's what's happening...

    NO WAY.

That's just embarrassing. It'll be and sound so bad if you read it.

    *Insert embarrassed emoticon here*
    I honestly wouldn't judge :p:

I'm the only person I know who writes poetry/lyrics, I have nothing to compare to.

I'm proud of you Eilidh :yep: Not for losing your debit card though!

At least you're not the only one... Miriam and Morag have lost theirs too recently haven't they? I hang out with too many clueless people :p:

Although in your defence it wasn't really your fault...
, you really are the only sensible one.

Anyhoo, I have 2 minutes left in this internet cafe, so I'll hopefully find another when I get to Lima (I've got an 8 hour wait there, fun times!)

    Ta ta for now x

    I hate my cat lol!
The flash affect on the eyes make the cat look evil!

My cats are identical which really irritates me sometimes because I call them the wrong name and then my brother or my dad hears and makes fun of me. I m also allergic to them...

That's what I was thinking  so then when he/she realised they'd be like "OMFG!!!"

Out of interest/nosiness, if you had done a sixth Higher, what would it have been? :holmes:

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...link?

My concept has been stolen..backwards. :sigh:
    LAST POST

In all my dreams, before my helpless sight,
He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning.
If poetry could tell it backwards, true, begin
that moment shrapnel scythed you to the stinking mud...
but you get up, amazed, watch bled bad blood
    run upwards from the slime into its wounds;
see lines and lines of British boys rewind
back to their trenches, kiss the photographs from home -
    mothers, sweethearts, sisters, younger brothers
not entering the story now to die and die and die.
Dulce - No - Decorum - No - Pro patria mori.
    You walk away.
You walk away; drop your gun (fixed bayonet)
like all your mates do too -
Harry, Tommy, Wilfred, Edward, Bert -
    and light a cigarette.
    There's coffee in the square,
    warm French bread
    and all those thousands dead
are shaking dried mud from their hair
and queueing up for home. Freshly alive,
a lad plays Tipperary to the crowd, released
from History; the glistening, healthy horses fit for heroes, kings.
    You lean against a wall,
your several million lives still possible
and crammed with love, work, children, talent, English beer, good food.
You see the poet tuck away his pocket-book and smile.
If poetry could truly tell it backwards,
    then it would.

Probably goegraphy. Or modern studies. Or Biology. Or psychology. Or economics. Or History. Or Latin or Greek (i'd LOVE to learn those, be a beast to self teach though) Or .. ah you get the picture :p:

I do a fair bit of reading though so I know a little about each of the subjects anyway, don't need to do a higher to learn stuff

Oscar Wilde started learning Greek at thirteen and was fluent by the time he was seventeen. He was mostly self-taught and hadn't set foot in the country yet. :holmes:

I get you though, I am so jealous of people whose schools do Greek/Latin/Classics/History

Nope. We haven't done her...just yet. :awesome:
You'll like that one. Most of the Carol Ann Duffy poems set by the SQA are...somewhat explicit.
