That pool document also bolded that candidates will be told they are in the summer pool "when they enquire". That might explain why there's silence from Cambridge. They should tell you though now you've emailed.
That was my thinking I have been pooled, as expected - apparently a decision should be made by late afternoon tomorrow, Monday at the latest, but the admissions officer kindly said that I could call between 5 and 6 tomorrow and she'd tell me what the status was at that stage.

Excellent! Now we can begin speculating which college you'd like/would give you an offer.

It has its advantages. You are far closer-knit in your college community than in a full university and the different atmospheres/architecture/specialties adds to the variety of the place.

After looking at the CS offer statistics, if I were to bet I'd bet on Magdalene (0 offers out of 4 apps) or Catz (1 offer out of 9). :p:

I spose, apparently in stirling due to there only being 7,000 undergrads everyone knows everyone
But in halls there is a bit of competition lol

Haha, touch wood... :p: I shall not be speculating, but I'm glad that I'm relatively busy tomorrow so I can keep my mind clear until then.

Magdalene haven't taken any computer scientists in the last 4 years, so that seems a little unlikely (frankly, I'm astounded they're still getting any applicants with that record!). Catz has had only 1 or 2 offers for the same period.

Hmm everywhere seems pretty uniform in terms of offers made each year, although Christ's only made 1 offer this year compared to a few in pevious years.

On the other hand, the admissions rate through the summer pool for CS is frightening. Only 7 people were admitted in the last 3 years and out of that only 1 last year (by Robinson). Although i don't think that includes colleges that pools candidates and then take them back.

About 30. One or two only take mature students, though (and one takes only girls).

    30 odd

On a related note, I am getting so sick of people telling me to phone up Cambridge and beg for a place :pinch: I am also sick of people telling me that Cambridge is stupid anyway :pinch:

I made my peace a few months ago, no-one seems to realise that I don't want it dragged up again!

Sorry TSR-ians for that little rant, not at all based on anything you guys have said, just very frustrated after going to school for a bit today.

 Not too promising, then. As I say, I'm mostly interested in getting this over with now...

That's a lot more than I expected! So do they specialise in specific subjects or do you choose which one you want?
