Good point and that shows that the applicant must be above average and so at least slightly academically gifted.
well the way you worded it at first wasn't slightly academically gifted lol

To even get an interview at Oxbridge shows that you have very good academic ability.
AAAA+ - is very good academic ability
AAA - is good academic ability
    BBB - is ok ability
    CCC - is average

EDIT: this is in my opinion

My favourite thing: people saying "I wouldn't want to go to Oxford, it's got too many rahs. So I'm going to University College, Durham".

maybe it is, maybe it isn't. I don't see someone who gets AAA as having very good academic ability. Sure it's hard but that in itself doesn't mean they're very good academically imo so i wouldn't say it's very good, I'd say it's good. People who get 4 As or more i'd start saying they were very good

Oh crap, I never responded to the 'what was in your interview' PM.

Basically, they had a some sort of protein-separating centrifuge tube that they handed over and asked essentially what it was. Stuff on blood and it's pH/a few chemical reactions - not really AS/A2, just extending common sense a little. A random outburst of what's 'X divided by Y.' Oh, and a few ethical arguments. 'Twas it really.

I don't know why people say it's full of snobs without having actually gone there. I mean all uni's have people you don't like and get on with.

Just saying because I want to apply next year for Oxford and on the open days everyone was just really friendly.
I know two people with Oxford offers. One's a pretentious snob, and so is the other.

Anyone who gets AAAAAAAA at A-Level is super-duper-clever.

Anyone who gets AAA at A-Level is a retarded recluse.

Anyone who gets AAB is a compleete and total failure.

Anyone who gets CCC deserves to be beheaded.

To use some of your logic there, son.

    Join the club.

Glad I'm off to KCL (hopefully) though. After all, it is just a uni, OP.

Can't believe I was literally only 2 places from an offer though. Top 150 out of about 1500 applicants offered places. :sigh:
Aw that's an awful statistic to know! My friend missed getting an offer but he was like the 7th candidate in the list... so well done to you. You'll do great at KCL, it looks like such a good place to be (my insurance, so I'm being genuine... lol)

I reckon that "a person who gets AAB or under" is actually an oxymoron

    Haha, cheers.

It's wonderful that I was so close and yet frustrating too I guess! Caaaaaaaaaan't wait for KCL though!!!
