I'm an EU student and I've been studying at a college for the last year. now that I'mgoing onto uni I've applied for finance. I applied online and was asked to send a birtch cirtificate or passport. I sent a birth cirtificate as I was soon travelling and needed my passport. They've sent a letter back recently saying i need to send my passport and evidence of my status within the UK.

Anyone have any Idea what I'm supposed to send as evidence? I don't have a visa or anyhtin like that cos EU residents have the right to move around in the EU without visas.
    Thanks!

Look, if you need finance for the tuition fees, you just need to send a copy of your ID or passport.
Do you mean that you are at college in th UK? In this case, maybe they want to see if you are eligible for more assistance...
    Hope this helps!

You do need to send either a passport or identity card. At present, there is an issue in regards to EU students and migrant worker status, and there should be an announced from DBIS shortly regarding criteria to qualify.

These are the documents you need to provide though.

    Right.
I'm in a similar situation as I'm an EU student myself. The only difference is that i've been here for over 3 years now.
I think the reason why they want evidence of your status within the UK is that you haven't been here long enough (3 years). You know when you do your application form they ask you for places you've lived in in the last 3 years. If these places weren't in the UK they might need to confirm your status.

In my situation such a document would be my residency card which i only got last year. It basically confirms that I'm a proper resident and have pretty much the same rights as a citizen. I think that might be it.
They haven't asked me for it yet. They might though...

There's also another thing. Are you from an EEA country? Cuz i think that makes a difference as well.

I think you should call them up and ask what exactly you're supposed to send. Or just send your passport like I did (and don't worry i was supposed to go abroad as well but I can't cuz they have my passport).
