Hair Thinning/bald At 17!!!!!!!!!!

I am scared now, my hair seems to be receding and is verythin on the top, so much now that my grandad and biology teachers have commented on it. I'm sure most people are more polite though. I can actually see skin on my scalp, it isn't good. I can't handle baldness as a teenager and I'd feel stupid going into the doctors with this as I was just in a few days ago about my wrist.
What possible reasons can cause this at my age and how can I prevent it!!!!?

Thankyou so much, David.

Go and see a trichologist. They'll take a blood sample from you. It might be the case that you're low on vitamins.

My ears are too outty for baldness, but I'd definately not want to look too receded so I'd go for the whole shave thing eventually.

And my girlfriend mighht be annoyed at that match.

you know - I've been seeing some balding men in a new light recently. Those that keep their hair really short can look extra spiffy.

extra spiffy eh? :p:

you have a nice way of putting things <3

trichoderm - if the follicles havn't died then the hair will grow back.

Reply 14

Spiffy? That's my new fave word.

Maybe you're just stressed.

Argh man!!

I don't know.

There's only one thing you can do, that is to accept it.

I don't know how women look at blokes that have lost their hair, but most blokes that have, do have a woman.

EDIT - And if you want a laugh (at my expence!) I have all my hair and no women like me, so I guess it doesn't really make a difference.. (for me anyway :frown: )

*crys*

it might be hereditary... my cousin is 28 and he's had a receding hairline since he was about 17 too.

my hairline has started receding too... try shaving all ur hair off? or spike it.

I know a nice guy who went bald at the age of 15 and could still get girlfriends...the only reason he doens't have one now is because he has been slowly but surely getting weirder...could be the drinking I suppose.

You shouldn't worry about not being able to get a girl. If you've already got a girlfriend, I doubt (if she's any good) that she'll dump you 'coz you're bald.
