I'm 16, just about to start college. Basically loads of people got the letter to go get it, but I didn't
Should I phone or something? I didn't get the letter for another vaccine either (tetnus boost for when you turn 16, could that also be a problem? ) I looked on the HPV website, it said I should get offered it in 09/10, but why would lots of people in my year get it now and others not? I haven't had an injection for as long as I remember, so I'm also so scared about it. But it's really important right.
Sorry for all the questions... Just worried. Any advice would be so helpful

Just ring your doctors and make an appointment with the nurse for the HPV vaccine. It's that simple You don't need the letter.
As for the injection itself, it stings for a minute or two then it's fine.

dont worry im absolutely needle phobic, im so bad that at xmas when i was told i should have a blood test for pneumonia i cried and screamed and thrashed around and threw stuff so they couldnt get near me til they found it was broken ribs and i was safe for then...ive had 2 of the 3 injections and the first one i screwed my face up and cried and let her do it and it didnt hurt and the next one i just made a funny face and looked away and let her do it so they really arent bad (from a really bad needlephobics point of view) they didnt even really sting for me either

Phone the doctors and they will do it for you.
Don't worry about it, it's only an injection. Seriously there are bigger things in life to worry about. Like cervical cancer.
I've had mine and I hardly felt them. TIP: keep moving/flexing your arm and hand vigorously for ten minutes after the injection. It will help to disperse the stuff they've injected and it will also stop your arm muscles from cramping up.
