I read somewhere that guys should try to keep their sports sneakers (i.e those used in the gym, running) away from the streets?

But what are casual sneakers then? After all most of the shops I visit (Nike Adidas) seem to sell sneakers that will only fall under the sports category. Thus, what are these casual sneakers and can you'll please help me out with examples.

I currently own a pair of Air Zoom and Air Pegasus. Where do they fall under?

    Thank you

I think it just means to keep your gym shoes for indoor use only, just to help with the smell and stop them from getting worn as easily. It's a lifestyle choice left up to you, but most gym-goers I know do it.

Running shoes are typically too garish to wear out.

Out of context, I'd would've said casual sneakers are ones which are more oriented towards fashion than technology, typically Pumas. I'd Nike Airs are definitely meant for sports use, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't wear them out if they're comfortable.

Onitsuka Tiger do good trainers. Underrated and not as common as the previously mentioned brands:

    Comfy too.

I have a pair of very expensive nike running shoes, which i only use for the gym and the reason is because i don't want them to get damaged by casual wear, when i'm on a night out or whatever, i tend to put a lot of pressure on my shoes with dancing and walking from club to club and these shoes would not suit and would wear out very quickly indeed.
