Hi there, let me paint the picture.

Last year I applied to uni and withdrew before the course began.
This year, I'm applying to the same uni, different course.

Applied for Student Finance using my existing account.
Waited a good two weeks to get a letter asking me if I have transfered courses or whether I had simply withdrew from university.

Rang them up today, I have filled in a returning students form instead of new student, the new form is currently in the post en route to my house. There goes 2 weeks down the drain, they told me to log onto that account and apply again.

Anyway, accommodation offer has to be accepted and deposit paid by the 10th.
I know this sounds like a no brainer, I'm just so pissed off that I'm gonna miss out!

Are there any other options than simply ignoring the offer?

you have a offer for a room at uni, need to pay deposit by the 10th?

if you need the room you should take it, you won't get the money from student finance until term starts

You won't get your first finance installment until 21st sept (I think?) anyway .... you might as well take up your accomdation offer.

Yeah, but I'm saying I don't even have the finance confirmation that I'm actually getting support. Sorry, I should of made that clearer.

If you can prove that student finance owe you money and are just late sending it to you, your uni will give you extra time to pay fees and accommodation. If you have applied for finance then they will be sending you some sort of money.

Ahhh ok, well Im in a similar position ... my student finance carries on messing up (been trying to apply since Feb). When I do get my accomodation offer I will just except it and pay the deposit. And then cross my fingers and hope my student finance is sorted by the time the first installment is needed. If not Im sure the university accomdation people will be understanding ... Im sure there are lots of students in our position each year.
So yeah take up your accomdation offer by paying the deposit ... (if you havent got the money for this borrow it ... or use a "free" overdraft?)
