I recently got a B in advanced higher english (B4) and have been told that i will be appealed due to strong evidence of better attainment. I am just wondering what the success rate of such an appeal is since i have got the lowest band B grade

I have appealed quite a few times in the past (apparently costs the school £50 each time but oh well!) I have been successful each time. For advanced higher I appealed a C to a B based on the prelim. How did you do in the prelims?

i got an a but just. The exam was not reflective of a proper exam as it consisted of more parts

Then unless you have other evidence it's probably unlikely you'll get the appeal, since such a large part of English consists of coursework. Still, worth a try!
