Hi, i sent my Student Finance application off the end of March, its now August and still got no where.

I sent by birth certificate, with decleration 6 times, and 6 times they have lost it, and asked me to send it again. I sent it again, (the original documents), and this time they say the signiture can only be from a list, as its so late, a teacher isn't there until september to sign, and Idon't know anyone else on the list personally, for 2 years at least, that is of no relation, AND holds a VALID UK/Irish passport.

In all, i have spend nearly every day on the phone with Student Finance to see what has happened with my application, and why it says "awaiting further infomation", despite me sending if off, and then when speaking to them, telling me to re-send it, just for them to loose it on me.

I have now spoke to the head of Student Finance, who has give me an address to send it to, and get it proccesed straight away. After sending it in again i have been told that the signature I got was unacceptable and to get a new one.

I got one from my Doctor, at a cost of £20, and sent that off too, this now being the 7th time.

I was not told previously who needed to sign it, and the person I orriginally had signed it was not in an appropriate proffesion to sign it.

The head of Student Finanace then emailed me, and said it is a shame the application has been delayed due to me not getting it signed by a correct authority figure initially, but it will be proccesed in their time. (They told me immediatly when they recive it)

So, It is MY fault that it has been delayed 5 months. OK, I made a mistake with the signature, but it was them who didn't notify me of the problem, being that they didn't bother, or just that they lost it as the head told me. It was me who has been on the phone worrying about if i can you to Uni or not depending on my finances to do so, and the fact that it was they didn't notify me once to say there is any problems with the application; despite the fact they had my home and mobile numbers, my address, and my email address. In 5 months, I have only recived news on the problems I have been having for the last 4 days!

I think that is an appauling way to be treated, and them blame me for it!

    What do you think?

I can understand what you're going through.

I've sent my student finance forms to job centre plus and received nothing from them for a month. Apparently my local job centre gave me the wrong address and now the forms were lost. I was told to send the forms again but this time they only addressed me to send the forms of my mother. Not my father.

The forms with my mother's benefit details are done now. But I'm still waiting for them to send back the forms with my father's benefit details. It is been a week since.

    Hey guys,
I'm glad I'm not the only person having problems with the finance people. Although it says Assessed on the website they're claiming that we haven't applied for the fees and maintenance which is a load of rubbish as we have the proof of what we have applied for. We have also tried to conatct them from the minute they open to the minute they close and every time we try it says that their operators are busy. Now that my course is starting in 2 weeks time I'm getting worried that I won't get the money in time. Is anyone else experiencing anything similar?

I am experiencing the same thing! And I dont know if I should defer my course now because of this, as if I don't get the loan on time, I might not be able to afford the cost of living and course fee =(

That identity confirmation form is such a hassle
Back in May, it took me a month to find someone suitable and my doctor/dentist/optician wouldn't even sign it!

I am still awaiting for that financial notification letter from them. They assured me a couple of weeks ago that i dont need to send in anything but they are keeping me on hold for some time now. ALso, online my status say ' Awaiting further evidence' when i have added my passport number and sent my parents financial details. EVEN now i am trying to call them, they say its busy.......i dont know....should i contact my university about this?
