This thread is unusually full of stupid posts. There's factual inaccuracy, dubious choices and rampant fanboy-ism (Feynman let me massage you with warm oils!) all over the show
I don't know much about humanities so I'll stick with science and maths
    Newton
    Darwin
    Euler
    Gauss
    Tesla
    EDIT: Forgot Einstein

Those who worked on theories of evolution seem to be pretty amazing. They completely changed the way in which the world and creation was seen: Lamarck, Wallace, Darwin...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Lamarck get evolution quite terribly wrong?

He believed that an organism's environment during its lifetime made changes to the genes that it passed on to it's offspring.

Biological Evolution, as we know it today, is described as non-Lamarckian for that reason.

    Charles Darwin
    DARWIN WAS BORDERLINE RETARDED

The guy was not an "amazing intellectual", he was an idiot who failed in every pursuit he attempted to follow, and who had a lucky break on one of the safari's he was sent on, to get him the hell out of everyone's way.

And even then, his theory is in the process of being completely overhauled as we speak.
