Hi, this isn't eye-catching or scandalous or anything, and I know there's really nothing anyone can so, but I'm so sad I just want to write it down and how that that makes it better. Please please keep anon...

I'm home from uni for the summer, which is great, as I love home and am lucky to be very close with my family. Except home isn't happy anymore- my dad is so so unhappy that it's tearing us all apart. I know that things are awful at work for him, and he's worried about his mum, who's very sick, and there are a whole host of things going wrong, so I try not to take it personally and be as helpful as possible, but he's taking it out on us and it's just so hard. He makes us feel like we've all let him down on a daily basis- like we're such disappointments- if we don't manage to do exactly what he wants, when he wants it, and with an appropriate level of enthusiasm. One younger sister is convinced he doesn't love her, the other is choosing to isolate herself from all of us, and my mum just cried about it to me because she's afraid that we all are going to leave home and never even come back to see her because he's making us all so miserable.

I've always thought of my family as a happy one and this is breaking my heart. I don't know how I've all of a sudden turned into that girl with daddy issues and a desperate need for his approval, but it couldn't have come at a worse time as it's never been so hard(/impossible) to gain it. I have been too scared to talk to him about it- I'd just cry- plus I couldn't stand to hurt him more, if that makes sense. Mum has tried but he refuses to see his behaviour as a problem.

This is all very melodramatic but I just don't know what to do. Isn't much anyone else can do either but just needed to say it cause there isn't anyone else to listen...
