    Hi,

I've only just applied for my student finance, going into my second year. I know, I'm stupid- I scanned the letter in December and then forgot anything needed doing until someone told me the other day, I didn't even think about it.

I'm non-means assessed and they don't need any more information from me. I know there's no guarantee that it'll come for the start of term but how late will it come? I can probably survive for about a month living in my overdraft but any more than that would be pushing it. Please someone reassure me it won't be that late?! I know I probably deserve what I get but I don't want to starve!

I haven't applied for mine yet - been waaayyyy too lazy! Still haven't done it lol. But I'm sure it'll be cool. Don't stress about it. It'll come eventually. I'm planning on living off my overdraft limits (a few accounts are a must for me - which I still haven't sorted out) and then when the money starts coming in I'll pay them off. Also, hoping to get a job too - see what happens, what with the recession and all. It's even worse for me as I need about 3 or 3 and a half grand for my sisters wedding next month too.
I think I'm too chilled out about it but there's no point worrying. If you don't have enough money I'm sure there's someone out there who'll be willing to help you out. Can't you ask you're parents or friends or something??
I think they usually take about 2 months - but I'm not sure as I've never have a loan before.
I guess you could always ring them and find out.

Sorry but having multiple overdrafts/borrowing money etc. sounds like my worst nightmare - I don't want to do that if it's at all avoidable. Besides, you won't be able to get multiple interest free overdrafts if your loan isn't being paid in - I'd get on with it!

Has anyone actually been in this situation? If so, how late was your payment ?

When my cousin applied for finance for his third year he didn't apply until mid August, and got his loans through on time, not sure if it made any difference as it was his third year or not....
