I don't get envelopes either. I take them and fold them up without looking, then toddle off to a quiet area.

last year the results were all being given out in the staff common room. I was a bit later than the time to collect them, so people were milling around outside and a few people were coming into get theirs. The teacher handed me them in an envelope. I turned around, began walking out whilst opening them, had taken in all the infomation before reaching everyone outside, and it was fine. It was all very low-key. I had started the day with a run, like i do everyday, and then breakfast, casual stroll to schoolwith a neighbour. And then out on the lash afterwards!

Open them alone then find friends. Unless they're really bad, then I might just leave. I couldn't stand opening them directly in front of other people though.

Opening my exam results is a really personal moment. Most of the people I hang around with are really stuck-up and arrogant and I don't want to share such a personal moment with them at all. I'd rather take my results, open them quietly to myself somewhere reserved then go back to the lobby and ask people how they did.

I had the choice took away from me at GCSE, people were called into an office with a senior member of staffm they opened ur results nd told u what u got, then gave u ur little certificates to go. I hated that!

Definitely open them on my own.
For me it seems like a private experience and I'd much prefer rejoicing on my own for 5 mins and calling my family and THEN meeting my friends. I mean what if I didn't get what I expected and broke down in front of everyone?

i do results day by getting up, opening the post (if it has arrived) then making breakfast then reading the Dailly Mirror, doing the su-doko and crossword whilst im there and then getting changed.

I do results day the same as every other day, only the aforementioned post happens to be A-Level results.

When I get my results online, I sit with a lot of cigarettes, and I wake up just after they release them - less shock, less anger

now i just got my AS level results - I did Bio+Chem+Phys+Math (extended retake)+edexcel Spanish

I only got a D in one of my best subjects = Biology. a D in Physics was expected...A in math extended gcse and an unknown in Spanish! Great. Get that **** on the CAmbridge university exam board to compare the bloody syllabuses and the papers they have given us!

Oh yeah btw any UK/Int. student that did their AS level exams this year (2009) - wasnt the science paper ****** up for every science?

GCSE: opened them in a quiet corner with one of my best friends, then rejoined the big group indoors. Then went to a friends house for pizza.

AS level: I'll probably just open them by myself, then go home or to a friend's house again.

GCSEs - I read them at school with others
AS - I didnt get an envelope, refused to read them in college and asked the teacher to fold it in for me. Went to the middle of a field (no jokes :o: ) and opened them. Cried my eyes out.
    A2 - rinse and repeat above :p:

We all waited around by the gate for 15mins waiting for our friend who was stuck in traffic last year. We ended up giving up and just going to get them. One of my friends was the first to open her's, she just started to cry as she thought she got all C's. After hugging her I opened mine, realised that next to each of them there was a C, then in the next column it said A and then my score. My silly friend was reading the wrong column, she got Bs!
