This may well be one of those things that everyone just knows but I was wondering, whether the water used in diluted fruit juices e.g. robinsons and such, counts towards the daily 2 litre recommended. I once read that water in hot drinks, soft drinks, etc doesn't count towards this (understandably) but do fruit juices also come under this or not since the majority is actually water. Just need some clarification.

yeh it does count.. and in most cases, fruit juices also count as one of your 5 a day fruit and veg portions, but they are very very high in sugar!! so drink with a straw to avoid damage to your teeth

That article doesn't really appear to mention that 2 litres a day is a myth (then again I cba to read it properly). It mentions that he sweated 315ml an hour, yes, but keep in mind the other fluid losses, i.e. ~300ml in exhaled air, ~300ml in feces and ~1,500ml in urine.

I believe the average fluid intake is ~1,300 through drink and ~900ml through food.

In fact we need only need 750ml to one litre of water, per day. "Quite simply, if we exceed that amount, we will simply excrete it."
