Does anyone happen to know if there are any universities in Birmingham with small class sizes, apart from Newman University College?
The research I've done so far on universities in Birmingham (and around England) teach predominantly in lecture halls and big rooms as such.
I don't particularly mind large lecture halls, but I am rather more interested in the smaller class sizes and stuff.
Any information you may know would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

It will vary at an institution from course to course. However Oxbridge has tutorials/supervisions which are generally 4:1 student to teacher ratio or better.

I think it depends on your course as well. I have lectures with a hundred odd other people, but I have an equal amount of time in seminar groups of around 6-10. I think this, having regular seminars in small groups, is generally more common for arts students.

    Lectures between about 75-400 people.

    Seminars between 10-20 people.

It varies by course and institution though.

It depends more on your course than the university. There's a 99% chance you'll end up in a big lecture at some point, everyone has a mix of both. I've been in lectures with up to 100 people in them but spend most of my time in classes of about 20.
