I was hoping someone might be able to figure this out. Basically, i have noticed that when i search online while browsing Tesco online i can add products to my basket that i have never ever seen beore in my local store. I don't get this at all. I have my home store registered as my delivery address, however i did have a previous uni address listed but that is deleted now, so they should be going on my local store, yes?
I know if i ordered something that actually wasn't in store they would likely replace it with something else, but why list it anyway if it is actually unvailable? Hmm, maybe they would be delivering from a bigger store that is further away, perhaps? Does anyone know if this would be the case? My local store is about 4 minutes away and isn't huge but not like a metro store or anything like that.

Thanks in advance if anyone can clarify this for me! So confused!

They don't allways collect the products from your local store.

from what I know of online shopping, is that all the groceries are collected from one store, not particularly the store you're closest to.

if you think about it, they'll be picking up a lot of shopping for more than one customer, therefore would be getting it from one place to deliver wherever

Usually it is the biggest store in a certain area that delivers the shopping for the whole area, so not necessarily the nearest store to you.

It is not your local. If you've used the correct postcode then you have nothing to worry about. They will have allocated a store and only the products available at that store will appear.

 Urm, i don't think it's that hard to understand, i asked a pretty straight forward question.

Thanks to those who actually answered. Yeah i figured that it might be a bigger store elsewhere they are delivering from.

Aack - of course not every product no, but i just noticed certain items that i had never seen before in the relevant sections of my local tesco.
