    really excited think it will be difficult but we will get through it and enjoy it :yeah:

    just created this thread to discuss a few things :woo: (and i know there is already a countdown thread but its too general)


    who else is excited?!?:eek3:

    how difficult do you think it will be this year?:confused:

    has anyone ever fasted at this time of year before?:eek: (i havent)

    what is the best food/drink to break your fast with? :teeth:

    what foods do you traditionally have on the table for your first meal?:cool:

    I usually open my fast with dates, and then its lots of unhealthy fried foods =)

    people spell it like ramadan or ramadhan but the dh is pronounced th (like the or that), so to make things easier i spell it ramathan


    the whole word is pronounced like:


    rum-a-thaan

    lol...actually its quite common to say it like that. Its meant to be said something like ramadhan or ramzan...it can't actually be spelt correctly in english:p:

    I think I may try to fast - if only for one day (I'm not Muslim btw).

    But it's going to be incredibly hard? I mean, it 'opens' at around 8pm :eek:

    lol yeah thats what i meant to point out to the person who replied

    and yes i do remember those being sold in Asda a couple of years ago; don't know if they still do it though. =)
