    Hi, i just checked out the routine for starting strength and noticed it targets nearly all the muscles in the body except for the biceps. Am i missing something?

    No, biceps are only synergists/stabilizers anyway so doing specific work on them is for **** anyway.

    Alot of people add rows (bent over or pendlay) to SS, whilst this isnt a specific SS program its pretty common and does use your biceps.

    Pendlays = Barbell Rows, right?

    If so, yeah they own bent over.

    nothing targets the biceps specifically but deadlifts, bench press, power cleans, standing press all do the arms and thats enough whilst your getting your main lifts up.

    You can do whatever you want to exercise...

    Yea, pendlay you do from effectively deadlift position.

    Just do the damn power cleans if you want to do starting strength, otherwise dont do starting strength?

    theres loads of exercises you can do but they aren't the same. Power cleans produce power unlike rows or whatever

    You'll enjoy them once you start doing them too

    Or a couple of sets of curls. 2 x 8 curls won't **** with progression (though I personally wouldn't do it).

    Fixed :top:

    Oh and OP, I'm starting SS on Monday - only concern is with the technicality of the power clean but gotta go for it anyway.
