Getting out my barbies for my little cousin who is coming to stay tomorrow I found one of my old barbies that I used to adore.

Anyways, she used to belong to eithier my mum or my aunt so was prob bought in the 60s and the strange thing is she has a stick that retracts in and out of her head with a little circular tube at the top (it looks like a telescope coming out a submarine).

We have no idea why this was there and never did and I am very curious. Any have any idea what this was originally there for or where I could find out?

was she one of the ones which you thread a string through the hole bit so she can slide along and "fly" like with fairy wings? I had one like that?

I don't think you could thread a piece of string through that very easily. my mother thinks it might have been to give her raised hair but not sure.

Bare in mind prob wouldn't of been the same one you had...its at least 40 years old
