    Yes

I think phones will go through a period of serious getting more powerful over the next year - namely a bigger/good screen and fast processor.

Windows Phone 7 is out soon and I have heard Microsoft will be pushing decent spec phones out

    That's the US Hero :fyi:

Don't run that on your Hero :p:
Yeah don't run it or you'll brick it! That's the update for the CDMA one, not the GSM.

WTF why do they keep giving WM this ****. 1.5ghz Dual Core! 4'5 AMOLED. I swear if the desire HD isn't specd out like this then I'm getting a Galaxy :hmmm:

Motorola have said they'll have a 2Ghz Android phone on sale by the end of the year, but we'll see if they manage it.

HTC won't have anything over the current 1GHz Snapdragon chips until next year I'd imagine when they'll properly refresh their range with successors to the Desire and Legend running Gingerbread. If I were to predict things, the Desire HD will be similar in power to the Incredible/Evo/Desire we have now.

Why anti cloud? My HD2 was screwing up earlier, so just turned on my iPhone and put the sim in, and all my stuff was synced
For mobile devices: A lack of truly high speed ubiquitous internet. I can't be arsed streaming (or storing) stuff without 100% guaranteed access.
Desktop: I have a 1TB HDD to fill and a decent back up anyway.

Only thing I will say for the cloud is the whole contacts things. It's great I can flash a new ROM and have all my numbers! :awesome:

edit: What a thrilling 10,000th post...

Fancy adding a "custom bootloader' column to the second one? for example, the Droid X has been rooted, but you cannot install a custom bootloader to put on a custom ROM on it (yet!).

However from what I understand this will only allow for custom version of currently official OS. No kernal change means no 2.x/3.x update without Moto releasing their own.

That is for now, at least.
