China says they want to break India up into 20-30 independent states, this will mean we will have less international power and status. I think this is pathetic by the Chinese. We should divide China instead!

Furthermore there will be far less unity between fellow Indian individuals and hatred will occur between different states and sectors which will cause war which will lead to exploitation by other countries and even the 20-30 states being invaded and taken over by other countries.

'The Times of India quoted it as saying that Beijing "should work towards the the break-up of India into 20-30 independent states with the help of friendly countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.'

All these countries used to be part of Ancient India and even countries like Afghanistan. So you can see what has happened, it is all divide and conquer when a one country is rising to the top and faces pressure internationally from other countries.

India is the main threat to China in Asia. I suspect some members of the Chinese government would love India to be broken up as it would destroy the country economically and enable China to achieve vastly superior dominance in the region.

Indeed one think tank represents us all.

It said that the proposal was the view of an individual and did not accord with the official position of China.
Oh ok.

Yehh thats true...China want to dominate Asia and be the main force/power in Asia but has competition which is India obviously. They want to make it weaker and far less powerful by breaking it up.

Oh ok.
The Chinese deleted the report as soon as the media got to it. Im thinking not the whole of China want this but the main individuals who call the shots in China.

I think there is a case here, however, for countries the size of India and China giving some regions independence.

China is such a large country that it struggles to support all of it's inhabitants because of the sheer size of the population. If Chine gave some regions autonomy, then it could deal with issues better, and living conditions would increase significantly. If we look at India, and Pakistan's break from India, both countries ended up better of socially and economically as a result.

This from the proponents of the ludicrous "ONE GREATER CHINA" dogma?

Does their hypocrisy know no bounds?
