Pretty much the same ways you would revise for all the other exams- learn vocab and go over grammar. Even though you obviously won't know what topic will come up, you could learn a few set phrases that would be useful for anything.

I totally agree.

8/10 papers have an essay on a holiday - you could revise holiday activities in different tenses, opinions, weather phrases etc.
Accidents/breakdowns often come up to so you could revise vocab and phrases on these topics too.

To be honest with you you should really be confident with all topics, you should also learn your tenses, grammar. I know that either last year or year before that, for the higher paper (AQA) they picked environmental issues and you had to write about that, its pretty unpredictable.
