I love this university, I definitely made the right choice in coming here. I cannot recommend Aber enough, but at the end of the day, choosing what university you want to go to is entirely subjective. This is a beautiful town with some of the most lovely people I've ever met. The university is improving, and the facilities available here are amazing.

Student Life in Aberystwyth
Aber is a lively seaside town where its close-knit community means you'll make friends in no time and have loads of opportunities to get involved in local activities or initiatives.
It has one of the highest numbers of pubs per square mile, so you’ll never be short of somewhere to go with your mates. There's plenty of boutique shops, cafés and coffee shops to hang out in too, if pubs aren’t your thing.
You don't have to travel far to be in the "great outdoors" where you can explore the stunning Welsh landscape and when the weather’s good the beach is the place to be - if you’re lucky you might even see dolphins!
If you’re feeling cultural you can visit the Aberystwyth Arts Centre (based on campus), National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth Castle or take a trip on the cliff railway.
And not to forget the wide range of Aber SU events, support services, sports clubs and societies too!
When you approach Aberystwyth by road look out for the bright yellow square signs containing a picture of a mortarboard (academic cap); these will lead you to Penglais Campus. More information here.
The train station is in the centre of town. Getting a taxi from the station costs around £5. More information here.
It’s about a 20 minute walk to the Penglais campus from the train station.
AberPride is the LGBT+ Society of Aberystwyth University. We are there to support and provide a safe space for LGBT+ students as well as providing an array of events and campaigns.
Aber's ACS is a diverse student society with a goal to unite students of different backgrounds to appreciate, promote and celebrate the African and Caribbean cultures in its ethnicity.
Aberystwyth Conservation Volunteers organize conservation tasks every weekend of term, and Wednesday afternoons in our Campus Garden! We also have socials every Thursday. Everyone is welcome.
Help bring history to life in a historically accurate, engaging and exciting way. There are regular training sessions, social meetups and craft workshops for you to come to throughout the year!
The ONLY place in Aberystwyth for goth, rock, industrial and metal! A place for fans of all alternative genres to meet and enjoy Aberystwyth with nights out, gigs and many other little surprises.
The Aberystwyth University Real Ale Society This is the University's only society dedicated to beer - specifically Real Ale. We go to pubs both in Aber and in the rest of Ceredigion, visit breweries and beer festivals and work (with CAMRA) to promote real ale in the town and university.
