Established in 1823 as an adult education college, Birkbeck is unique as it offers all of its courses as evening courses, and most of those part time. Fitting study around students’ lives is a core focus of the university, so it is a great option if you want to work and complete your degree at the same time. If you’re thinking about your career, the university has its own specialist recruitment agency, Birkbeck Talent, to help you find your dream career.
It really allows you to begin you career, and be exposed to such a diverse group of people. Also, many of the professors are world renowned in their fields.

Student Life in London
Located in the centre of London, near Euston station, commuting to Birkbeck is super easy. With the British Museum just around the corner and the British Library less than a mile away, it’s a pretty inspiring location in which to study.
The Student Union is lively and active and has three cafes and a bar, and Student Central is right next door. The University also puts on regular free cinema screenings. If you fancy something more, you’ll be in easy walking distance of Oxford Circus and Soho, and everything London has to offer.
Close to Euston station, commuting to university is simple. It’s also within walking distance to Kings Cross/St Pancras so venturing further afield won’t be difficult.

This is a great chance to test your skills and knowledge!
We are a social running club that welcomes all abilities, especially beginners and those who are looking to ease back into running. We hold weekly running sessions, fun (and interesting) social events as well encouraging teams of members to enter organised races (whether it be a 5K fun run or a full marathon!).
The Birkbeck Film Society is a new society, run by members of Birkbeck(which include students, alumni, staff and friends of Birkbeck), for members. The Society will show the best in world and classic cinema, featuring festival award winners and Director features.
