Open Days

Undergraduate Open Days are held on campus and give potential students the opportunity to hear from our academics at subject presentations and learn more about their course of interest. Students can tour the campus to see our
facilities and on-campus accommodation options. The Admissions team are here on Open Days so potential students can ask any questions they may have. They can also find out more about student support services, career development, scholarships, part-time student jobs, sports clubs, arts centre, social events, volunteering, and more. Our current students will also be there to
share their experiences of Brunel.

If you can’t make our Open Days, there are other ways you can make sure Brunel is for you. You can visit us for a campus tour, explore our campus through our virtual tour ( https://www.brunel.ac.uk/virtualtour/) or explore your chosen course via our on-demand content  (https://www.brunel.ac.uk/study/on-demand).

Postgraduate Open Days are held online. The Virtual Open Days will give you the opportunity to explore all aspects of university life, talk to our staff and students, and find out what Brunel has to offer.

We also run a range of online and on-campus events including public lectures, seminars, conferences and lunchtime concerts.

Accommodation

We offer en suite and standard self-catering facilities, including specially adapted rooms for students with a disability or studios for couples.

Home students can apply for accommodation once they have been issued with a Brunel student number. Please visit our accommodation web pages before submitting your application: brunel.ac.uk/accommodation

Your accommodation contract with us is for 38 weeks (undergraduate students) or 51 weeks (postgraduate students) and you’ll pay your rent in three termly instalments (four termly instalments for PG students). There is a deposit required to pay once you receive your Licence Agreement. This deposit will go towards your final rent instalment which reduces your final payment.

Living here

With everything on-site, from world-class sports facilities and great eating spots, to industry-leading technical facilities and amazing student support services, there’s a real community feel on campus. If it’s activity you’re looking for, then you can enjoy one of over 135 sports clubs and societies run by the Union of Brunel Students. If you want to chill out and relax with friends, we have many beautiful green spaces around the campus.

You can stock up on essentials at the campus supermarket or try some freshly baked goods and fresh fruit and veg from the pop-up market stall. There are plenty of places on campus to grab a coffee and many different food outlets to choose from, all just steps away from each other. You can get an English breakfast, pop up street food, pizza, Subway, tortilla wraps and middle Eastern food.

You won’t have to go far for a great night out. You can meet up with friends for a drink at our student bar, Loco’s or go to our club The Venue for big nights out on campus.

When you study at Brunel, London is just a tube ride away.  There’s plenty to see and do in the capital, from exploring famous landmarks such as the London Eye, Tower Bridge and Buckingham Palace, to visiting an art gallery or seeing a show in the West End. With a huge range of restaurants and pubs, there’s something to suit every taste. You’ve got the best of both worlds with great travel links – just 20 minutes from Heathrow airport and 40 minutes from central London.

Student Life in Uxbridge

At Brunel you’ll have all the benefits of a campus university while still being within easy distance of London; the best of both worlds. There’s a bar and a nightclub on campus, and nearby Uxbridge has its own fair share of nightlife too. On campus you’ll have access to world class sporting facilities (Usain Bolt trains here), and all of the uni’s sports clubs are open to all students regardless of ability - so whether you’re playing competitively or for fun you’ll be welcome to get involved. If sport isn’t your thing there’s also a spa for you to unwind in.

What students have to say/Q&A

Tom - Aerospace Engineering MEng
Choosing Brunel was heavily influenced by its excellent industrial connections and strong international reputation. I’ve particularly enjoyed developing my knowledge of theoretical engineering principles by participating in various design projects. This will give me a solid foundation on which to start my professional career in engineering.

Denise - Biomedical Sciences BSc
The course addresses real-world issues, so I’ve learned to solve problems, speak in public and become confident about the field. I graduated with a first-class honours degree and I’ve won a scholarship for a fully funded PhD project at Brunel so my journey here continues.

Richie - Entrepreneurship and Innovation BSc
Running a company with a dedicated team in my second year is definitely the biggest academic highlight at Brunel. It’s very unique for a university to offer such an experience, and Brunel has been very supportive along the way of our progression.

Anna - Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) BSc
The Computer Science department at Brunel is full of passionate lecturers who really care about their subjects and their students. In the third year we had the opportunity to hear from researchers and industry professionals which allowed us to see the theory applied to the real world.
