A short bus ride or cycle will take you from the campus into the heart of Lancaster - a city full of character and culture. The city is compact enough to walk around and small enough to hold onto a friendly personality. But there's also everything you'd expect from a modern city, with plenty to see and do, from busy shops and a vibrant nightlife to cultural attractions and beautiful parks.
Lancaster is a collegiate university and has nine colleges which each provide students with small close-knit communities and a "home from home". Lancaster is one of only a small number of leading UK universities to operate a college structure. Each college has its own identity, accommodation, elected student representatives, social scene and facilities. Colleges make it easy to get to know people outside of your course, allowing you to make the most of your university experience. Colleges are about the people: speak to any Lancaster graduate and it's likely that before they ask what you're studying, they'll ask which college you're part of.
It's a fantastic university; you will not be disappointed coming here.
