Courses and Fees

Lancaster University offers over 280 undergraduate degree programmes across four faculties; The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, The Faculty of Health and Medicine, Lancaster University Management School and The Faculty of Science and Technology.

Lancaster students have the opportunity to experience life at an overseas university through our study abroad programme. With over 150 academic partners across 24 countries around the world, Lancaster has strong links with universities and institutions in the USA, Asia and Europe. You can explore the world in a range of different study placements, cultural exchanges and volunteering programmes.

The 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) assesses the quality and impact of research in UK universities across all subjects. 91% of Lancaster's research has been independently rated as 'internationally excellent' or 'world leading' with 46% rated in the highest category of 4*. The results combine with Lancaster's strengths in teaching and investment in the student experience to reflect our distinctive university community, able to excel in teaching and research.

Studying at a UK University means that you need to pay an annual fee for your tuition, which covers the costs associated with teaching, examinations, assessment and graduation. The fee that you will be charged depends on whether you are considered to be a UK, EU or overseas student.

Campus life

The Lancaster University campus in North-West England occupies a beautiful 560-acre green site, just three miles from Lancaster City Centre. Campus has everything you need. From the expected: teaching facilities, accommodation, library, places to eat, a sports centre, supermarkets, laundrettes. To the slightly unexpected: an ice cream shop, farmers' market and even its own Greggs.

Surrounded by woodland that you can explore with paths and trails, campus has many green spaces that are ideal for moments of calm or somewhere to socialise with friends. Keep healthy with our extensive sports facilities, including sports halls, a climbing wall, swimming pool, fitness suite, strength and conditioning room, outdoor pitches and courts, and a 2.6-mile Trim Trail that spans campus.

Located at the heart of campus, our library is a welcoming place that brings people together to study, learn and attend events. With staff ready to support your learning, over a million digital and physical resources, living walls and a tree affectionately named Norma.

Our eight undergraduate colleges have a social space each (open to all) and campus boasts an assortment of food outlets and recreational spaces that are the perfect setting for life outside of your studies.

Other on campus facilities include:

Health Services such as an NHS doctor's surgery and a pharmacy.

A multi-faith Chaplaincy Centre and Muslim Prayer Rooms.

An on-campus Pre-School Centre with playrooms, a sensory room and enclosed outdoor play areas.

A theatre, student cinema, art gallery and concert series hosted by Lancaster Arts.
