Top ten in three major UK league tables in 2018 (The Times, The Guardian and The Complete University Guide), we scored 4th for student satisfaction and in the top 10 for employability. Add in our colleges, community feel and international outlook, and you can see why our staff and students love being here.
Lancaster achieved a Gold Award in the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) which is based on high quality teaching, excellent teaching facilities and the good careers our graduates go into. The latest Research Excellence Framework (REF), in 2014, confirmed Lancaster as a world-leading research university with 83% of our research rated internationally excellent or world leading.
Lancaster is proud to be one of only a handful of UK universities to have a collegiate – this is one of the most distinctive and valued features of the University. We have nine colleges in total, eight for undergraduate students and one for postgraduate students.
Each college has its own identity, accommodation, elected student representatives, social scene and facilities. Colleges make it easy to get to know people outside of your course, allowing you to make the most of your university experience. Colleges are about the people: speak to any Lancaster graduate and it's likely that before they ask what you're studying, they'll ask which college you're part of.
