Student Life in Oxford
Student Halls
We have halls on and around all our Oxford campuses, which are linked to the other halls and campuses, the city centre and the train station by our BROOKESbus service - which you get a free bus pass for if you live in halls!
Most halls have a 38 week contract, with some having up to 50 week contracts for students on longer courses or who want to stay in Oxford over the summer.
2018-19 prices range from £111 per week for a self-catered, single-study bedroom with a shared kitchen and bathroom, to around £160 per week for en suite accommodation. Studio flats are approximately £200 per week.
If you apply on time and make Oxford Brookes your firm choice on UCAS Track, then you are guaranteed a place in halls.

Student City
If you look beyond Oxford’s dreaming spires and impressive history, you’ll find a buzzing student community in a city made for student life - almost a quarter of the Oxford population are students!
Whether you’re looking for pubs, clubs, nature-filled walks, museums, galleries or just some really good food; you’ll definitely find the Oxford for you. Oxford also has some events and traditions that you won’t find anywhere else, so get involved and make the most of being in this inspiring city.
One place to definitely check out is the Cowley Road - you can just pop down the road from Headington Campus for bars, restaurants, pubs, clubs and food from around the world. There are loads of great places for having fun on a budget, and it’s the student hub of East Oxford.
There are also job opportunities to suit everyone if you want to work at uni, whether you’re getting work experience on a placement as part of your course, or aiming to increase your employability and extra cash with a part-time job. Oxford is home to over 4000 businesses - you’ll definitely find the one for you.

Sport
Hockey? American Football? Wakeboarding? There are loads of ways you can build up a sweat at Brookes. You can join any of our 40 sports clubs or attend fitness classes in activities like indoor cycling, pilates and yoga.

United Nations Association
This society provides hands on experience in international affairs by attending national and international MUN conferences where students will role play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN conferences. It promotes awareness of international issues and conflicts, organizes discussions, simulations and speaker events.

Radio Society
This is the radio station made by students for students! They approach music with an open mind . Immerse yourself in the latest and greatest music from an endless array of genres and styles. They host events, showcases and provide lots of ways to get involved.

Tea Society
This is a society for people who simply want a good cup of tea, a nice chat and maybe a biscuit or cake. Membership entitles you to free tea at all meetings all year.
