Student Life in Sheffield

Sheffield is a true student city, being home to over 60,000 students. The areas around the campuses are completely geared towards students from independent shops to student bars. Despite being the UK’s fifth largest city, around 60% of Sheffield is made up of green spaces like parks, public gardens and countryside, so you’re never far from somewhere pretty to relax in. It’s easy to get involved in sport in Sheffield whatever your fitness level. Having the Peak District next door means there are plenty of places to walk, run, climb and swim. Students in search of culture can be immersed in Sheffield’s underground scenes in art, music and culture. With nearly 70 gig venues, the UK's largest community of artists and designers outside London, and a calendar of major festivals, there truly is something for everyone.

Travel information

map

Being in the middle of the UK, there are great transport links to the rest of the country. The City Campus is located opposite Sheffield train station and next to Sheffield bus station with complete immediate access to various travel routes, with the other campus about 20 minutes walk from the city centre. The city itself is served by excellent bus services – and the famous Supertram.
