If you're unable to attend an Open Day we run regular campus tours, where one of our Student Ambassadors will take you on a tour of the campus and our University accommodation.

Student Life in Bedfordshire

Whether you prefer to dance the night away, or kick back and relax in the beautiful countryside, Bedfordshire has something to suit everyone. Luton and Bedford are between 30 and 40 miles from London and are lively, student-friendly towns with thriving social scenes, surrounded by tranquil, rural villages where you can truly embrace country life.

Our Luton campus is only a short walk from many high-street shops and cool bars. If culture is more your style, Luton has everything from a cinema complex to carnivals to entertain you.

Bedford is an idyllic riverside town with a lively mix of tradional town pubs, bars and restaurants, modern nightclubs, shops and heritage in addition to first-class sports facilities.

Milton Keynes is a modern, bustling "new city", fusing urban appeal with old country charm, and boasts the largest growing "after 6" culture outside of London.

Aylesbury is bursting with culture, international cuisine and cool clubs.

Being a student isn’t just about studying – it can also be about lifestyle, and so deciding where to live can be very important.

Our accommodation offers you more than a room:

  • Instant opportunity to make new friends
  • Close to campus
  • Safe and secure - with trained security staff on site 24/7
  • All inclusive value – your rent covers all bills and contents insurance
  • Stay connected – free Wi-Fi in all rooms
  • Flexible payment plans – opportunity to pay in installments

Fantastic Modern Facilities

University of Bedfordshire facilities

At Bedfordshire we’re invested in developing first-class, award-winning social and learning spaces, designed with your bright future in mind.

Work is currently underway on our new STEM building (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), due to open in 2018. The building, set out over four-storeys, will allow the University to offer a wide range of new science courses including Nutrition, Physics, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Geology and Mechanical Engineering.

We’ve also invested in the following to ensure we provide the very best facilities to support our students throughout their studies:

  • A purpose built, seven-storey library, opened in 2016, featuring dedicated silent areas, breakout spaces and pods to facilitate group work, a café, and state-of-the-art IT and AV equipment
  • Specialist Art and Design building, Alexon House
  • Campus Centre, housing all student services under one roof
  • En-suite accommodation, Fitzroy and Wenlock Court, offering 850 fully furnished study bedrooms
  • Revolutionary Business Pods and Law Moot Court in our Business School

  • Purpose-built, three storey building, Gateway, featuring everything a student could need under one roof
  • Campus Centre which hosts a 280-seat theatre – one of the largest in the county
  • A Physical Education and Sports Science Centre, used to train athletes in the 2012 Olympics
  • En-suite accommodation at Liberty Park

Milton Keynes

This campus houses an array of modern teaching facilities including high specification teaching rooms with top-quality audio visual and ICT equipment, a special purpose electronics and telecommunications laboratory and a large, general purpose computer lab, giving IT students hands-on experience. There is also a Student Information Desk on campus, where our staff can assist you with any queries you may have.

Other Developments

Two new, purpose-built gyms were opened at our Luton and Bedford campuses in 2015.

Each gym offers a range of cardiovascular and weights machines along with a free weights area. Located on campus, the gyms offer a convenient way to keep fit with affordable and flexible membership options.

Our healthcare students are based in dedicated facilities at our Buckinghamshire campus (Aylesbury), which is fully equipped with contemporary clinical skills labs, simulation suite, and an on-site Learning Resources Centre (LRC).

Travel Information

The University of Bedfordshire’s Luton campus is situated in the heart of the town centre, with high street shops, supermarkets, and the train station all within walking distance.

Students studying at the Bedford campus have access to a free University shuttle bus, giving quick and easy access to the train station and town centre.

Both campuses are within a 40 minute train journey to London, and are within close proximity to London Luton Airport.

More than a degree

We believe that university life is about far more than just your studies - it's about developing as a person, whether this be through activities such as joining a club, undertaking an internship, exploring and learning about other cultures, or volunteering, to name just a few.
