Discover yourself at a green and spacious campus university just minutes from the hustle and bustle of the UK’s diverse and vibrant second city. The eyes of the world will be on Birmingham in 2022 when we host the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, in a city with a quiet confidence like no other.
We’re proud of our city. With more parks than Paris, more miles of canal than Venice, the largest public library in the UK, world-class sports venues, the busiest single theatre in the UK, and the largest UK city economy outside of London, the city of a thousand trades once known as the workshop of the world is now the perfect creative playground whatever you’re interested in.
Your student experience
Your journey through university is personal and will be made special by the people around you. Whilst your degree is at the heart of your time here the relationships you build will last a lifetime. The best people to tell you what it’s really like to live and learn at Birmingham are our students - check out their blogs and videos for tips about studying and student life, to help you to explore our city and campus. They're here to answer any questions you might have along the way.
Your accommodation
Our student accommodation will allow you to enjoy your new-found independence in safe, welcoming and sociable surroundings. We offer student accommodation within one of three university villages or in privately owned partner accommodation, which are mostly located in Selly Oak near the campus. We also have ongoing support for those students who don't live in purpose-build student accommodation, either by living at home and commuting or by moving into private student housing in their second year and beyond.
Your campus
At Birmingham, we have the best of both worlds. Our campus is not only a green and beautiful place to learn but is also a thriving hub of student life. It’s also only a stone’s throw from the city centre, which is perfect for those students who want a balance of a city and a campus experience.
Your city
Cadbury’s chocolate, The Bullring, Peaky Blinders, the Balti – all things synonymous with our city. Yet Birmingham has so much more to offer than this. As one of the original pioneering cities Birmingham has developed into a melting pot for shopping, food and drink, nightlife, sport, culture, and industry.
