Student Life in Bradford
Bradford is a diverse, vibrant and well-connected city in the heart of Yorkshire. It is an exciting time in the city, with new developments such as the Broadway shopping centre, the creation of the Sunbridgewells underground retail and leisure complex, and the restoration on the beautiful Odeon building overlooking City Park.
As well as the city centre - home to the University's main campus - Bradford includes several smaller towns and villages, each with their own distinctive character. There is so much to see and do in the Bradford district, from wandering around a museum to hiking across the landscape made famous by the Bronté sisters.
From independent shops and boutiques to markets to the newly developed shopping centres, there is everything in Bradford for a student’s shopping needs.With a range of sports activities and a vast array of nightlife, there is plenty to keep a student entertained in Bradford.
Bradford is easy to get to, located right in the middle of the UK with excellent road and rail links, and an international airport (Leeds Bradford Airport). An extensive coach service also connects most parts of the country with Bradford’s Travel Interchange.
Campus is located in the heart of the city, 5 minutes walk from the wonderful City Park, and 15 minutes walk from the closest train station.
Learn the art of Bollywood dancing, work on your fitness and have a blast at the classes! There will be plenty of opportunity to learn more about the Bollywood Industry, perform and socialise.
The Union's student-run cinema holds regular screenings, open to all, in the Student Central Lecture Theatre. We have recently added Rewind Tuesdays to our schedule, screening classics films every first Tuesday of the month.
A multicultural society comprising students from various European, Asian, American, and African nations. Members are able to learn and practice cooking foods from around the world and also to network and socialise with other students.
The hub for gamers at the University of Bradford. Hardcore gamer or just a casual player? Console or PC? Everyone is welcome to join! We run various tournaments throughout the year including the weekly mystery game tournament held every Thursday
Join a group of people who share a real passion for scuba diving. We provide training and dive opportunities for everyone from beginners to experienced divers, with weekly training sessions on campus and regular dive trips to sites around the UK. The Bradford University Sub Aqua Club is a member of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC). As BSAC’s oldest university dive club we have an experienced group of instructors and volunteers.
The Bradford African Caribbean Society (ACS), is a place welcoming of all students. Our aim is to not only celebrate the diverse African and Caribbean culture, but to also offer a support and networking platform for our members. We aim to support our members in many ways, such as ensuring support for their university life and more. ACS is not just for Africans and Caribbean’s but rather for anyone with an interest - therefore we appreciate people from all backgrounds joining our society. All of our members will have discounts on our lively events, inspirational talks and much more, which we will be hosting throughout the year.
