Choosing a university is a big deal. There’s lots to think through, like where to go and what to study.
Occasionally it might even feel like information overload – just at a time when you’re probably busy with other things. That's why we've decided to highlight some of the reasons why Huddersfield makes a great first choice university.
- The University of Huddersfield is a gold-rated university in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
Knowledgeable, qualified teachers can inspire you and help you to achieve great things. The University is joint first in England for the proportion of staff with teaching qualifications (HESA 2020)
Huddersfield has a fantastic record of graduate employability, and this is great news for our students. After all, getting a job is a key reason to study at university. 97.3% of our undergraduate students go on to work and/or further study within six months of graduating. (DLHE 2016/17).
- Professional work placements play a key part of student life. One of the reasons employers have such confidence in Huddersfield graduates is due to the real-world experience they gain from placements. We are a Top 15 University in the UK for work placement years in industry (HESA Student Record 17/18).
5 out of 5 I have loved every minute of my university experience. There's not one thing this university is missing for me. I'm on a great course with great tutors great friends and I feel at home on campus and within the town centre.
